Welcome to my portfolio.

My name is Maria Martinez. I'm a Mexican-American illustrator raised in the United States. Drawing and being able to create have been a passion of mine since I was little. Growing up with a creative family encouraged me to pursue my love for the arts. I studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated on June 2023 with a BFA and with honors in Magna Cum Laude. 

When I'm not spending hundreds of hours working on comics, you can find me working on food illustration, playing animal crossing, or gushing over k-dramas. I've also recently gotten into working as an illustrator for K-pop zines.   

K-pop is something I've been into since middle school which has inspired me to create K-pop fan art for a good couple of years which is what helped me apply for zines dedicated to a variety of groups. Being able to create artwork for these zines has been such a wonderful privilege. Having the opportunity to work with so many talented artists has been such a wonderful experience and I can't wait to be able to join more.

Since graduating I've been able to illustrate a few published stories. There is still more work to come in the future and I can't wait to be able to share it. In the meantime please enjoy the work I have uploaded.
